Matthew 22:34-40, a lawyer came to Jesus and asked what He consider to be the Greatest of all God's commandments. The question was designed to trip Him up but Jesus had a Wisdom that didn't come from this world. "Master, which is the greatest commandment in the law?" Jesus capsulized the law into two statements;
- Love God with all your heart!
- Love Your Neighbor as yourself!
He concluded that all the law and prophets are summed up in these two commands. If you love God with all your heart and love your Neighbor as yourself, you will live life in a way that pleases God and gives you favor with Men.
The "Love Law" does not allow us to love God without loving People. Some people think they can Love God and still have all sorts of hatred towards people. Sorry folks, that is not how this Kingdom works. In God's world, you can't love Him who you can not see and hate the people you can see.
We are bound together on the earth and required to Love one another in order to have a peaceful and prosperous life. There is no room for hatred when we live according to the Royal Law of Love. Hatred divides us but Love keeps us together!
Your love for others will overflow from your love for God. Your love for yourself will determine how you love others. You must have a healthy, God-centered love for self, so that you can appreciate others and demonstrate the God-kind of Love for your fellow man.
There would be no prejudice, racism and bigotry if people put these two commands to work in their lives. Make it a priority today to Love God and Love Others.
Faith Confession: Father, today I choose to walk in love toward others, even in some difficult situations. I will allow You to love others through me today. I will be Your arms extended to the world through the Love Law operating in me and others will be blessed due to my actions, in Jesus' name, Amen!
Pastor, My faith is amped --- thank you
