THE PEACEMAKER

Reading Assignment:  Joshua 1 - 3

“Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another” (Romans 14:19)

True, lasting, Christ-centered and Christ-exalting peace does not happen naturally. That is why the New Testament is constantly exhorting us to make peace and commending those who supernaturally develop the habit of being “peacemakers.”

The term Peacemaker implies there is work to be done in order to live at peace in this world.  For this to become a reality in our lives, homes, churches and work places, we must put in the work.  It isn't always easy because peace requires cooperation from every side.

Five things the Bible says will make for peace within the body of Christ:
  1. A willingness to take personal responsibility for your actions.
  2. A determination to put others before yourself.
  3. A fresh commitment to walk in the love of Jesus Christ.
  4. A supreme concern to glorify Jesus Christ.
  5. A zeal for the name of Jesus to be known in new places.
Faith Confession:  Father, I commit to myself to live at peace with everyone I encounter and I am determined to be an example of how to walk in the Love of God, in Jesus' name, Amen!
